Twin baby shower ideas to consider

So you went to your ultra sound technician and you doctor happily tells you that you are having twins!

Below we have several popular twin theme party packs and other related supplies. Plus, coupon codes – Check it out!

There are several theme ideas you can go for that will give you a clear picture on what your color scheme will be, what decor elements you will use, the games you’ll play and the invitations you’ll send out.

Before we begin, please remember that your baby shower host will plan all of this out so make sure you touch base with her and get her on board with all your ideas and suggestions, including these:

Twin Theme Ideas

There are three themes that really come to mind and that bring out the whole concept of the twin baby shower really well. They are as follows:

Monkey Theme – the principle colors for this theme are brown, green and yellow. Try these theme ideas out:

  • Add lots of potted plants around your home for that jungle vibe.
  • Use brown and green streamers.
  • Create a diaper cake with a pair of small monkey plush dolls at the top for your centerpiece.
  • Play tropical sounding music in the background like the “Tiki Tiki Room” from Disney.
  • Serve chocolate dipped banana slices in pairs.

Noah’s Ark – the main color scheme for this is brown for the ark, blue for the ocean and the other colors depend on what type of animals you will be using for your ark centerpiece. I find that most ark themes center around elephants (grey), lions (orange) and monkeys (brown). Here are some more ideas:

  • Use matching animal plush dolls as your centerpiece.
  • Make a three tier diaper cake with animal print ribbons and pairs of matching animals on each tier.

Lady Bug Theme – the colors for this theme are red and black. I love this theme because it’s super easy to create and it looks great.

  • Use red and black streamers.
  • Lay out your lady bug table cloth or any red and black table cloth you may have.
  • Create a three tier diaper cake with red and black ribbons or lady bug pattern ribbons for each tier.
  • Serve chocolate dipped strawberries in pairs.

Great games ideas

There are several games you can play and/or several things you can do to accentuate your twin theme. One example is to have everyone compete in pairs of two and play team baby shower games.

Another great idea is to have your guests list as many famous pairs as possible: batman and robin, Yogi bear and Bubu, Rocky and Bullwinkle etc…. You can make this even more difficult by having your guest list pairs in a specific genre such as cartoons or movies.

Unique twin invitation ideas

You can get all sorts of twin related cards at your local Hallmark type shop or you can create your own for cheap.

Tasty baby shower food ideas

When it comes to baby shower food its all about finger foods. They are best for any kind of party so don’t burden yourself with big overwhelming complicated dishes.

For the “twins” effect you are going to want to pair the finger foods together in groups of two on your serving dish. This will certainly play into your twin theme and your food will look great. You can take this a step further and have your finger foods fit into your overall theme.

For example, lets say you go with a twin ducky theme then you will want to serve yellow marshmallow peeps in pairs of two. For more finger food ideas and recipes check out this page on food.com. More finger food ideas:

  • P&J sandwiches
  • Pea pods
  • Double cupcakes
  • Peanuts
  • Chocolate Kisses
  • etc…

Easy baby shower favors

Here is a super easy and excellent favor idea. Get yourself several cellophane party bags (one for each guest) and fill them up with pairs of your favorite candies or chocolates.

For example; you could have two small snickers, two small almond joys, two of a kind lollipops and so on. Make sure you tie these cellophane bags with ribbons that match up with your color scheme and theme.

You got it covered!

Believe me when I say your twin baby shower is going to be beautiful and memorable with these ideas.

Always remember to start with your theme and work your way down.

It is super easy to get stuck on one aspect of the baby shower but if you begin with your theme then that cuts away from all of the extras that don’t really contribute. Plus, your theme will lead you into your color scheme, decorations, invitations and everything else.

Please feel free and share any of your twin baby shower ideas that you have created in the comments section below. We always love to hear from you.

  1. Great article and many wonderful ideas!

  2. thanks for saying so!

  3. This blog is full of great ideas for games, decorations and even food. I think in a way a twin baby shower would be even more fun than a single baby shower. You have done an excellent job with your use of pictures and videos in all of your posts and the content is fresh and fun not a snooze fest of details. Thank you for the entertainment and ideas.

  4. These are great ideas for a twin baby shower and even triplets but what do you do when you are having sextuplets or more like Octomom had eight. What kind of shower do you have when there are going to be multiple babies like that? I wouldn’t want to buy eight or six of everything you decorate with because that would get really expensive. Any ideas how to do this?

  5. Thanks Tara!

  6. You have me stumped. But honestly speaking, I wouldn’t put emphasis on the ‘twins’ aspect of it and just make it a coed baby shower. Focus on fun and less on theme in this case.

    I hope that helps!

  7. Your ideas and pictures are great and colorful if you have clients in the NYC area please let them know fashionrockny.com have great venues to use those excellent ideas I see posted.
    Great work!

  8. Why thank you Warren.

I find that most of our visitors are from the south but we do have some folks from the north. Once again, thank you for informing us about your venue!

  9. how to give birth to twins at the same time?

  10. I am sorry, I can’t help you with that. I recommend you see your doctor.

    Thank you and take care.

  11. question, is there a recipe or a web site for the baby duckies peeps shown above?

  12. Hi Don, any cupcake recipe would work. The point here is the design. To do this you are going to need:

      puff pastries for the heads
      chocolate chips for the eyes
sliced almonds for the wings and beaks
      icing to “glue” everything
your favorite chew-able candy for the head

Prepare the puff pastries heads; stick in the chocolate chips to form the eyes. stick in the sliced almonds to form the beaks. Top with icing and chew-able candies.

Make your cupcakes, spoon out the tops and reverse them back in to the cupcakes. Put the heads on the cupcakes, hold them in place with icing or toothpicks. Finally, stick the sliced almonds under the heads to form the wings.

Best of luck with your baby shower.
