We’ve all been to Disneyland and we’ve all seen Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Is it any wonder why pirates have re-captured our imaginations again? When I was a little boy on the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ride, I remember how infectious the “Yo Ho Yo Ho” song was. I even remember driving back home in the back seat STILL singing that song.
These knaves are back in a big way and they make an excellent theme for your upcoming shower. Below you’ll find everything you need to throw a pirate baby shower. Plus, you’ll will find an instructional video tutorial showing you how to edit the invitation template! The theme set includes printable games, banners, food labels and invitations. All you need is some time and your color printer to get this party rolling, enjoy.
Edit Your Pirate Invitations
Send out your invites no later than one month before the shower so that your guest can RSVP in time. Watch the video below and learn how to edit the template correctly. Also, you should print the invites on 4R card stock paper:

The banners and labels you downloaded are just one component of the decoration process. You can hang the banners over your table and/or stick them on your walls but there is much more you can do. Here are some simple but cute ideas to try:
- Get cheap plastic balls and chains and scatter them throughout the party space.
- Fill a great big glass bowl with water and blue dye and have a little pirate ship floating in the middle.
- Empty out glass bottles and fill them with a little sand and fake jewels. Seal the bottles with corks.
I saw many other cool and cute ideas for pirate decorations on Pinterest and at party stores. I’m sure you can come up with many more.
Fun Games For Your Crew
Pirate bingo can only entertain your crew for so long, you’ll need other amusements to keep them jolly. It’s an unwritten rule to have at least two games at a baby shower; one game that requires thought and one physical baby shower game.
If you want to keep your guests excited then I recommend ‘Paint the Beard On The Pirate’. You’ll need pink face paint. Divide your guests into teams of two, have both members blind folded and sitting facing each other with face paint. At your mark give them 3 minutes to paint a pink beard on each other. The expecting mother picks two winners; one man and one woman.
Caribbean Snacks To Satisfy All
You have to feed your crew with hearty bite-sized foods that will have them begging for more. Your crew (guests) needs to be free to move about so that they can chat among themselves without being bogged down by bowls and plates. Here are some finger food ideas for your pirate baby shower, remember the food menu is Caribbean inspired (lots of pork and fruit):
- Salted Pork Chunks With Pineapple
- Pigs in a Blanket
- Deviled Eggs
- Small Shish Kabobs
- Black and White Frosted Cupcakes, here are some great recipes
- Caramel Apple Slices
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all of the pirate inspired finger foods you can come up with. There are many more to be had, just take a gander online.
