Favors Anybody Can Make!

The name of the game is; fill the object. THAT’S IT! A lot of people make a big fuss about creating cute baby shower favors but it’s really not that difficult at all. Before you start anything there are some thing you need to know:

  • Baby Shower Theme: you want your DIY favors to fall in line with the rest of the theme.
  • Color Pattern: again, you want your treats to match the rest of the event.
  • The Favor Container: this is what each guest gets and what holds the treats. These containers should be theme specific so if you are having a princess baby shower theme then you might want to have pink baby boots as your favor containers.
  • Treats: these are what go inside the favor containers. They range from edible goods like candy to practical items like little candles. These don’t necessarily have to be theme specific but they could be if you want. For example, if you are planning to have a Hollywood Bling baby shower then you might go with chocolate coins as your treats.

As you can see there are many ideas you can run with. This also brings us to the different kinds of containers you can use for your favors.

Everything listed below you can get a your local big box store like Walmart or your local dollar store. Some are more expensive than others but not by a lot. The most important thing is that you can easily put them together and make them look super cute!

  • Tin Boxes – these are great because they provide a lot of room for your treats and you can easily decorate them with stickers related to the baby shower theme. If you want you can tie them up with a bow.
  • Cellophane or Transparent Polyester Bags – another affordable idea that is very posh and elegant looking. You should get bags that match the baby shower’s color pattern. You can tie the bags with cute little ribbons.
  • Baby Food Glass Jars – very much like the tin boxes because the jars provide you with a lot of room for your treats and you can easily decorate them with stickers to match your theme!
  • Plastic Easter Eggs – these are a nice touch for spring baby showers. They come in a range of colors, the only problem is that you are limited in the space you can use. Candy is the preferred treat for this baby shower favor.
  • Little Baby Bottles – a little bit on the higher end in terms of price. These little bottles look adorable and are extremely easy to decorate. Most folks fill them up with jelly beans or small chocolates.
  • Baby Booties – again, these are a tad bit more expensive but absolutely adorable displayed on your main table. Fill these up with practical items such as scented little candles.

You see, all you have to do is fill your favor containers with whatever you think your guests will like. Candy is a popular idea. Baby shower organizers often fill these favor containers with jelly beans, chocolate kisses, marshmallow peeps, fancy mints and much much more.

Some people like to fill their containers with more practical items such as little scented candles, little bars of soap, cute key chains and what ever else you think your guests might find absolutely adorable. It’s really up to you to make the best baby shower favors for the upcoming party.
