Easy homemade baby shower decorations

So your friend’s baby shower is coming up and you’re scrambling to get some decoration ideas that are light on the wallet and easy on the eyes.

If this sounds like you then you are in need for some homemade baby shower decor ideas.

I know what you might be thinking “I don’t have the time for arts and crafts” or “I’m terrible at making things by hand”.

Don’t worry, these decorations are super easy, trust me.

Baby showers and minimalism

That’s right gals and guys, you don’t have to make your friend’s baby shower complex and ultra decorative.

You can keep it simple and easy; at the same time making your friend’s baby shower a great one.

Balloons – talk about an inexpensive and easy way to decorate the baby shower venue! Balloons are easy to get and simple to decorate with.

Just go to your local dollar store and pick the ones you like best.

Christmas lights – trust me on this one, you won’t be using all of them just the ones that you think will complement your baby shower.

For example; use blue lights if you know the mom-to-be is having a boy.

Baby bathtub – these are great and can be used in many different ways to decorate your baby shower. Fill them with water and rubber duckies or you can always leave them dry and fill them with plush animal toys.

Strollers – this is a simple and very powerful decorating tool that many baby shower hosts just don’t incorporate. If you don’t have one or two strollers available to you then ask your friends to lend you theirs.

Position them throughout the house and/or baby shower venue and don’t forget to put some plush toys inside the strollers. Simple and easy!

Baby jars / Baby bottles – these are great alternatives to vases. Fill them up with multicolor marbles or with flowers and place them around the baby shower venue.

Get with the baby shower theme

A really good way to make things easier on you and your imagination is to have a predetermined baby shower theme. This way, you will be able to plan and incorporate exactly what you need for the shower without any unnecessary fuss.

Let’s say for example you’re hosting a monkey baby shower theme. That being the case, you will know from the get-go that you won’t be wasting any money or time on unnecessary decorations or ideas.

You will focus your time, energy and your baby shower budget on plastic bananas, yellow balloons, plush monkey toys and everything else that you KNOW will benefit the entire theme.

Another useful tip is to use your surroundings as you decorations. If you’re having a picnic style baby shower then a Winnie the Pooh theme would be ideal.
