With the ongoing crisis today, we need to be practical when it comes to our expenses. Baby showers are no exception to that.
Some may even hesitate to throw a party like this because there are other things to prepare for before the arrival of the baby.
Nevertheless, we should still celebrate the coming of a new baby. Let us cut back on the expenses though. Let us start with the decorations. Cheap decor should be used to keep your expenses under control.
Reasonably Priced Decorations and Themes
As you may know by now, baby shower decorations depend on your theme. Here are some suggested themes you can use to save some moolah:
- Bathtub or swimming theme – you can make a baby bathtub as your punch bowl. Put this at the center of your food table. Instead of the usual fruits floating in your punch, substitute them with cute rubber duckies. Instead of cups, use the feeding bottles but without the nipple. You can make the bathtub and the feeding bottles as gifts for the mom-to-be after the party.
- Picture theme – Cut out baby pictures and pictures of the mom and dad to be. Attach the pictures to strings and then the strings to a used umbrella. You now have your own baby mobile. You can also put other pictures in frames and place them as center pieces. You can also make a photo collage and form them into feeding bottles, rattles, babies, teddy bears and the like. The things you can create in your collage is endless.
- Christmas theme – sounds unusual, right? This is the cheapest theme by far. You can use your Christmas lights to decorate the place. Put the Christmas balls in the ceilings or you can just put them altogether in a bowl. Be as creative as you can to make use of your old Christmas decors. You can even use your gift boxes as center pieces or decorations to accentuate the gift table.
Or you can also mix and match the decorations. You can use the Christmas lights, the bathtub and the pictures all at the same time to make the theme fun and quirky. You can also add in balloons to any party theme. Balloons are light on your pocket so they won’t cause you much stress.
Party planning on a tight budget is a challenge. But being tight on the budget is not an excuse for skipping this wonderful celebration.
Remember that the expecting parents deserve their friends’ love and support as they welcome another addition to their family. Cheap baby shower decorations are a good component to start with.
After that, everything else in the party will follow. If you can’t cope up with the stress of the tight budget, ask your friends for donation. You can also ask them to help out in the creation of the decorations. If sky is the limit when it comes to your budget, you can browse other pages of this site for more ideas.

I’ve never understood Baby Showers. Here in the UK we don’t bother, and have happy and healthy babies too. It’s not exactly a necessity
I’ll probably bring a dish to pass, and the father to be is planning on having all the guys bring diapers for beer :)
I’ve never liked going to baby showers so I don’t really remember what you do at one,
But the info above is too good..
well thanks for the idea, maybe we can convert you!
I completely agree, its not a necessity its a pleasure.
